this couple simply doesn't work... there is no chemistry at all

Not enjoying this too much. The back and forth of the characters emotions is honestly quite annoying and frustrating. Though, I'm curious as to who the REAL killer is, their aim and why they blamed Beau. That's what's keeping me reading because I honestly have no clue!

“I take it things didn’t work out between the two of you.” “Something like that.” “I’m sorry. She’s . . . one of a kind. I liked the way she didn’t put up with your bullshit.” “I did too.” I close the door after him. There’s only one more goodbye to make. And it’s the hardest I’ll ever have to endure. I know I'm lucky. My dad trusts me with more than his favorite gun. He trusts my word and that I'll do my best to make sure that Cora is okay. Now if only I can live up to all that trust.
