Status Updates From Teresa of Avila: The Book o...

I’ve found it quite difficult to read this. The prose is tedious and often difficult to follow, and the ideas feel scattered, which makes it hard to stay engaged. Also much of her spiritual insights don’t quite resonate with where I am in my prayer life. It may simply be that I’m not yet ready to fully appreciate the depth of her writing.

“What harm can they do me, who am a servant of this Lord and King? Why should not I have the strength to fight against all hell?”

I really don’t think I’m ever going to finish this😭😭

La descripción de los estados de oración de Santa Teresa son un consuelo para todo cristiano que trata de escalar en la oración. Porque a veces uno se cree realmente insulso siendo consciente del gusto de estar largo rato simplemente en una frágil presencia de Dios y de pronto sustituir esto por las mismas vanidades de siempre. Ciertamente uno clama al cielo gritando Dios mío pero como se puedo ser tan zopenco.
