The first two chapters lit me up. I feel as if I recently encountered this problem in me—a sick soul, where I saw myself not as a sinner in need of grace, but attempting to “find other messiahs.” I felt as if the gospel was enough to save me from my sin (and I knew theologically that it is what frees me from shame, people’s approval, etc), but it was not carried out practically. I love this book so far.
