I had to start the book over since it’s been so long. Tripp uses a lot of repetition and cliches, but the book has so far done a good job of defining the problem.

Rereading this for the second time. Hoping it will be a humbling and helpful tool as I begin my last section of Sabbatical.

The first three chapters this far have delved into one specific temptation in "pastoral culture", which is, essentially, to regard yourself as more valuable in the kingdom of God, by merit of your education in scripture, your position in ministry, or the fact that you graduated from seminary. As a non-pastor starting to enter into church leadership, I have so far found this very informative.

Tripp encourages and challenges the lack of community many pastors face. His words of warning sound the alarm and remind us that none of us should be separated from the body.

This book is the "faithful wounds of a friend" that I need right now.

Taking notes and taking names. Just kidding. It is good though.

This book is intense. The most confronting book I've read. And rich in grace.

This is a challenging book. It is worth reading if you care about the health of your church.
