Janice Herrington is on page 225 of 363

Great description of flavor of small town South in 1930's. Find fictional character's portion kind of slow. Focuses on lack of acceptance of women in journalism at that time. Explanation of Communist party at that time kind of vague. Events confusing. BUT, the author's description of Rose's circumstance and the writing of her voice are BRILLIANT!
