I am feeling very conflicted about this book. I feel like it should be almost over, but I'm only halfway through. Why is it that each character makes the most irrational and immoral choice in every situation? Aggghhhh

I saw the movie first and I liked it, so got the book. Then I got distracted and it's now lingering in TBR land. Love Jojo Moyes so expect I'll like this.

Amo as histórias da Jojo Moyes mas sempre tenho dificuldade de engatar a leitura. Acho a escrita um pouco cansativa!

Ich finde es mühselig das Buch zu lesen, da sie 40 Jahre keinen Kontakt hatten und für mich das kein Happy End werden kann, egal wie. Happy End wäre für mich persönlich gewesen, wenn sie ihm im Kongo bzw. danach im Büro doch gefunden hätte und sie ihm erklären konnte was sie getan hat und dass sie frei sei. Aber gut jetzt sind es nur noch wenige Seiten.. Vielleicht gibts mit Elli und Rory ein Happy End.
