Althea did some investigating after sensing the inherited evil in Warwick's brother, Felix. It's convenient that she stumbled upon Felix's diary. Since rising from the dead, Katherine's been very lively and succeeds in bringing down the Fury/Ken. The fool's rescued by his love but she's agreed to marry Warwick for unity and peace. Oh, woe.

"This was much easier when he was the villain." I get where she's coming from, feels petty hating pleasant people. What's the Jester's name? The Queen has turned away from the ideal man, uniting the Siblands and bringing peace by ending war. I guess love trumps perfection. "I would scream and cry and pull my hair if he tried to mention the night Mum left." Made me think of previous read book. Success in resurrection!

The queen is totally out of her comfort zone and surrounded by zany characters who keep her in the dark about everything. She concludes that they're strangers and seeks to part ways with them. As King Warwick of Fairford and Queen Katherine of Elderhaime finally meet, the outcome of the bet between Athena and Wolfe become unclear. I'm more than halfway through the book, how great would this story be as a movie?

"We are all servants of history. Especially those with no knowledge of it." Indeed. "She wondered why Witches in the books were terrifying and ugly, whilst Wizards were kind and wise." I reckon it has to do with gender double standard. Also like to point out how religion also gives witches a bad reputation. I still remember the guy at Salvos condemning a fairytale book featuring witches on grounds of christianity.

The fool and Smeggy have known each other from way back; he has history with just about everyone. "Never let rage be your fuel." I need to learn to live by those words. The princess is learning as she goes: helmets restrict peripheral vision, to rescue others, and to kill. Althea foresees lots of problems ahead if a romance blossoms.

Slight confusion over the story, with all the altering points of views and me reading on my travels, I was bound to mix up what's what. At least I know the gist of things: princess discovers that the fool is dangerous, a king comes in rescue of the princess and horrible stuff comes for her too.

Quite the naive princess with her stuck-up nature, akin to those who refuse to associate with people from all walks of life since they consider others as being below her, she has a lot of growing up to do. While the mysterious jester seems to be comfortable in a pub setting. The deceased king trusts him with protecting his daughter.

This sounds promising and better than my previous read. An orphaned princess on the run with her jester and his puppet.

There is just a lot going on right now. And who is the Fool? WHO ARE YOU? I'm getting a bit all over the place.

Things have gotten dark! The Fool is ever fascinating though.
