This seems like more family drama and very little gothic stuff.

It’s starting to ramp up, with these adventures I always get impatient lol. I almost continued reading. I wanna find out who the demon is. I have like three guesses. When it’s one setting, the meandering can outgrow my tolerance. At least we’re in the homestretch now. It feels like the film, clue with all the characters running around, trying to find out who the killer is.

The tension is so palpable especially if prior experiences with toxic family members. The constant back handed remarks with only a sprinkle of a compliment hidden there. Wanting to escape the group functions to hide from the fake-ness and vitriol. The hypocrisy of a religious relatives being the most sinful individual themselves. The household drama is reaching fever pitch. I’m all in this Latin gothic adventure.

I am flying through this. I love how much this is based around Dominican family culture. I feel really seen. 🥲
