A return to my favourite genre - unhinged women doing unhinged things.

Lalla Rook bewitched me body and soul at “As I leave, I notice a fine spray of arterial blood on the wall that has almost dried to a Tuscan red, and suddenly I’m looking at the paintwork, which was done last year in Little Greene’s Pompeian Ash and Lute, and realize this is a wonderful opportunity for a whole new colour scheme.”

This is reminding me of “Best Offer Wins” which I didn’t like - probably will dnf @ch 2 lol

About 100 pages in and I am realizing I just don’t care enough about the storyline to keep going and see how this ends. I understand the FMC has major sociopathic tendencies and there are some lines that had me laughing or balking at the audacity, but after grabbing my attention right away, that momentum faded quickly, and it ultimately feels a bit lacking.

3.5 🌟 listened to the audiobook and the actor was a great pick. Easy to listen to and definitely wanted to keep listening at certain points but a little drawn out in some parts
