The problem with climbing one mountain is that there’s always another one on the horizon. My ongoing journey was a pilgrimage, full of peaks and valleys, with challenges, achievements, and lessons to be learned along the way.

We took many walks on the beach that year, both of us on our own path to convalescence. Our friendship naturally deepened from sharing this awakening of our own vulnerabilities and morality.I’d like to think that the waves that lapped at our feet carried our anxieties far out to be buried in the deepest depths of the sea.

Even in the darkness all we can do is keep moving forward.
