Same setting and some of the same people as the Jane Yellowrock stories, completely different vibe. So far so good.

I love this. I love Nell. I can’t believe I waited so long to start this series!!

First of all, I am lost. I’m about to pause and read Off The Grid. Second, I don’t like Rick.

I am liking Nell more than Jane - she is not as whiny

Interesting ending, there are twists and a new type of being. Not really new on the earth but new to the readers. And we learn who she is. Good stuff

Forgot something like comment. Neil, sugar, has a shocking surprise back at Church land. More than one. One very good and one, maybe two, not at at all goo. Faith is good at throwing twists and surprises in-not what I expected.

She is in trouble. Captured but the last of the bad guys. Wonder if her people have a search App on her cell phone.

Getting close to being finished. The conclusion wasn't the conclusion after all. I wondered if there was a long peak chapter but no. Twists and action and getting deep.

More action but something strange is going on.

Part two of my opening comments.

Good descriptions, getting into the main character's mind and emotions. Suspense and action scenes. Good read

A little late in starting these. This one is a whole lot different Skinwalker. Even though the plot is probably very close. A young woman has some power over the earth and growing things. She lives close to the extreme cult that she escaped from. Now government types want her help to free a kidnapped girl which of course means going back to the cult, at least for a day. Even though she is a very bad shot.

The book feels like a slog to get through. But it is picking up. Perhaps my problem with the book is less the book itself, and more that it is the first in a series that is a spinoff of another series. Maybe my problem is that I expected that I would be able to more instantly relate to the characters, having “met” some of them in previous books, and that hasn’t really been the case.

I find this book harder to get into than Hunter’s other books. I just can’t identify with the main character as much. And that’s weird to me because I’m a white, cis-male, Nell Ingram (from this book) is a white, cis-female from Tennessee, and Jane Yellowrock (from the Yellowrock series) is a 200+ year old female Cherokee skinwalker.

I'm enjoying this though I wasn't sure to expect if this was very like the Jane Yellowrock books. It's set in the same world but Nell is a very different character. I do love the audiobook narrator.

Wow... she’s so smart... I love that and it’s shown to us and pretty neat! The time with her family was neat too... loved how they broke the hold the bad leaders had on their church. The healing was CRAZY! I love Occam and Tandy!

Wow! This got really good fast! I love the team... Tandy and Occam especially. Her privacy issue was fascinating and how Occam handled it. The daughter of the vampire is fascinating and similar enough to Nell to be a great character to feature.

This is fascinating... the little Pea creature that will kill the leopards if they Kill a human is fascinating... she also takes on the girl cat mauling the brother dude since she did it to protect her... she claims the girl cat to her land... so she decides to help and meets with her older sister... only for one of her younger sisters to introduce herself and ask to visit!!

Hmmm I like this girl, plucky, and in a hard situation. Fascinating power.
