I’ve learnt 2 things: the DofE is an international program so Americans have their own version of it; and the term ‘for fuck sake’ has transcended and Americans use it too (can’t imagine it sounds great in any American accent though…)
Truly thought the author was British and forgot that DofE and that phrase is a British thing so it’s weird for American characters but I stand corrected!
