It is amazing and frankly inspirational to see how much Yeongju has reconstructed her life, friendships and social support network in the pursuit of her bookshop. Just seeing her newfound friendships even in the new phase of life is so inspirational to me… Makes me think that this isn’t too late. Nothing‘s ever too late.

Well that was kind of…anti-climatic? I guess that’s the whole point of this book? Or maybe I’ve been reading too many romance novels that are way more fast paced than this lol. We’ll see where this goes…

And here we are. The real heart of the story. Or rather…all the reasons behind Yeongju’s current trajectory in life. What a despicable mother, and low key an awful ex-husband. Screw them both!

Oof, to have a community to care for Yeongju like this…and this is all of her own creation! The Hyunam-dong bookshop and coffee shop is truly a community center of the community’s creation…..
