The beast my father roared especially ugly roars today. I never seem to please him; although it is true, I never try.

I think I love geese more than any other birds, because no one else does. They are not small and delicate like larks and sparrows, or swift and clever like hawks and falcons. They do not sing like nightingales, and cannot be trained to talk or dance or do tricks. They are cunning, greedy, short-sighted, and stubborn. Much like me, now that I think on it.

Now my father, the toad, conspires to sell me like a cheese to some lack wit seeking a wife.

Re-reading an old favorite. After reading Sunrise on the Reaping and currently reading non fiction about the p53 tumor suppressor gene, I felt I needed a happy, silly palate cleanser. I haven't read this book in probably 15 years. I remember it being a joyous read with silly, lovable humor. So far, so good!

I love re-reading books from my youth. And with this, yet another one lives up to my memory. This is good as hell. 🤘
