Status Updates From Forbidden: A Regency Box Set

I’m giving up on the third story - the language is too inconsistent. Mostly it’s very modern even though it’s set in 1799, but with odd inconsistencies like “did it not?” chucked in to make it sound plausibly old. Plus I get it - they did something bad, they betrayed you. Stop dropping pointless hints and just get on with telling the story.

I enjoyed the first story. The second was so badly in need of proofreading that I gave up only a couple of chapters in. I mean, the heroine’s name in the first few pages was Elise/Essie and then it became Esther/Essie! Come on!

This book is pretty good.
