I hate catalogs, but there’s a catalog of garbage in a marine garbage patch that was delivered in such an extraordinary way that it jerked a tear from my eye.

I love the satirical labeling of Harpo’s army as “the Good Guys,” and the ways that the army assures themselves they are “on the right side of history.”

The narrative voice has grown on me somewhat.

Delightfully strange

I find myself touched by Yara’s anxiety about making their own original art, as opposed to the embroidered reproductions of existing paintings they create. It seems natural to read Lewis’s novel as an expression of a struggle to make something new from the scraps of classic epics they incorporate into the novel.
