Finished the title story: Great little story on grief and misguided hope. Simple prose, dripped in irony and a bitterness for both its protagonist and the world he's forced to live in.

when i go a year or so without reading any garcia marquez i start to wonder “is my opinion overblown? am i being hyperbolic when i tell people that he’s the greatest writer ever?”

and then i pick him up again and only need 20 pages to be reminded that “yes, he is the greatest ever and no one can convince me otherwise”
