This is a fun read, especially because I like books about politics and/or political races. But, I'm reading the paperback, which is slowing me down because I can't easily carry it around with me, like I can if it's on my phone.

I think this may be my last Vali book. I'll stick to rereads of Carly's Sound if I need a fix.

I'm losing interest quickly. Or have lost interest already. It's not really bad or anything, just standard romance stuff, I guess. I'm still hung up on the super quick switch in Chili's attitude and have no idea what set it off. If it's explained later in the book, it'll be way too late to make a difference to me. I could put it down now and never think of it again but it's book 77 out of 80 for the year...

I think I missed something because the characters have just made a drastic change in how they're interacting with each other. I feel like I missed something but <spoiler>one of them looked at a body part of the other and then suddenly all the objections she had to dating are suddenly gone. </spoiler> Literally, just that fast. With no explanation as to why.

Predictable and sweet. Still what I need right now. One mid-scene POV change (I think there may have been two, actually) threw me out of the story and made me back up to ensure I wasn't losing my mind.

I had to put Tupelo Honey on hold for now. I needed something light and easy and predictable. Ali Vali may write the same basic characters in every book (at least the romances) but there's some comfort in that. I know what I'm going to get and I can work or clean the house while listening without worrying about missing anything crucial if my focus drifts away for a few minutes.
