dnf at 60% there’s just so many formats idk maybe I’m just dumb and don’t get it

I am enjoying this much more than I enjoyed Boy Parts, which is a shame really, because the concept for Boy Parts was elite but I didn't much like the execution

Fascinating so far. The writing style impressively mimics nonfiction reportage so well that I had to Google whether or not the crime of the hook actually happened (lol).

Still fascinated with the formatting of this book

This book is literally sickening but I can’t put it down

ALSO: Clark is doing a good job at showing how gross the true crime media and community can be

really enjoying it so far!

some notes for myself:
- the case of the hotel fires shows us how stories can be manipulated, and the victim sidelined
- the way no one reported the fire shows how we can get desensitized to violence in a way that makes us complacent

love this feeling when I could finish this book in one sitting but trying to pace myself so I can read it for longer 😭😭

This feels like a worse version of Devil House.
Angelica doesn’t feel believable in her own voice.
But otherwise quite compelling writing.

I have strong feelings about some of these characters but i fear that’s not over…

I hate it here it’s hella heavy and disturbing

i was slightly unprepared for the cruelty in this book, it’s fiction in true crime style so i guess i only have myself to blame. def check trigger warnings.
