I think many of these footnotes could have been parentheses. Or explained in text. Don't get me wrong I'm not a footnotes hater. I'm just less enthusiastic about them than a lot of people, including it seems the author and his editors.

Okay do the demons and succubi in this story actually need to eat? They’ve been complaining all book about how hungry they are and Sebastian is still starving them all, like is there any consequences to them starving??
