Laurence Bright's essay, "Christian and Marxist," is the best of the lot so far, perhaps in all my study on Christian-Marxist dialogue. He has been the only Christian thinker thus far to not only surpass dialogue but "switch sides," and admit himself a Christian as well as a Marxist. His unorthodox interpretation of Christian theology is perhaps what makes this possible, and is certainly controversial of itself.

This book is kind of weird; it breaches between revolutionary calls for guns at the barricades and intellectual discussions of the Young Hegelians. I feel as if it’s missing the Christian element compared with the Marxist one. But it’s okay; it’s something I picked up from a side street near Peterhouse, had a lovely discussion with the man who sold it to me. It’s the vibessss not the content babes x
