Honestly, Pepper Winters is one of the most consistent authors out there. I don't think she can write a book I don't enjoy. The darker the better as far as I'm concerned.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't help but think that since the collar had to click into place to be put on there must be a way to take it off without the beheading fanfare.

I think I'll take a break at this point and go read something better instead. (Here I thought I'd finally found a dark romance with a solid concept and then I was thinking too hard and found a giant hole in the whole vengeance cycle against the protagonist' family because it could have been ended centuries ago if only men weren't selfish - but what else is new. Oh well.) I'll probably finish it at some point.

This book definitely plays with your emotions.
