I’m still hanging in, trying to figure out what all of the hoopla was about this book because I’m not seeing any of it. I’m totally bored!!!!

I hope there's a turning point eventually because the storyline looks too harsh to handle it and I'm saying this as a fan of Pepper Winters. I checked the last page (i couldn't stop myself) and i'm afraid it'll get worse ugh..

Something I've been questioning for a while that hasn't been answered. It's the Weaver women that's taken to pay the debt. First born women. So why was Nila's mom taken? Her dad is the Weaver... Shouldn't it have been a sister of his that was taken, not his wife?
