liking enough to read and maybe finish. there are moments i think are really great and i love how brandon taylor writes developing relationships. a lot of this though comes across weird, kinda preachy. hes saying things i agree with but it feels a little basic?a little surface level? its reminding me a lot of martyr by kaveh akbar but i enjoyed that book more lol

While it's taking FOREVER, it's remarkably easy to read. It's very slice-of-life with very big thoughts. Again, New York is such a dynamic character in it and Wyeth is finally using New York to observe himself and how he does or doesn't do his art. But we've finally been introduced to the concept of the unknown artist. So I'm prepared to follow Wyeth down the rabbit hole. Hopefully Keating will continue to tag along.
