I got about 25% through this book before giving up. It is very well written but I just couldn't deal with Alana. I mean your job is to "handle" the memory eater. You realize you have missing memories and yet you don't think it is necessary to talk to someone on the council? Alana just tries to pretend she doesn't realize it. I just couldn't get over this.

So YOU are the only one responsible for keeping the witch locked up, the witch who eats memories and you have missing memories. Amd you don't think that is something to worry about? To maybe share with someone on the council?

Would 1000% visit the memory eater - not sure if I’m taking the right themes away 😂😂

This might be my new favorite of the year as it’s REALLY good! It’s horror adjacent but also soft and vulnerable and practical. It’s about the importance of memory and a girl groomed to exist and do one thing in her life and dealing with that responsibility. It also has some neat casual lgbt* side characters and the second chance romance is a neat addition to the beautiful writing

Tbh I don’t get why this 17 year old has to have the brunt of the blame when none of the adults in her life after the death of her grandma really helped her….like sure they don’t have the power she has to contain this monster but most of them didn’t do much to idk pick up where she needed it besides her friends family. Like ?!!!? And everyone is mad at her???

Page 47 of 327 Ch. 3 - It's kind of dull but the plot has me curious. The monster is the only interesting character so far, Alana is so-so. I consider quitting after Chapter 1. I'm going to give it till chapter 5 and if it's not amazing by then I'm moving on.
