tend to ignore blurbs so i can read books without spoilers or being influenced by what it’s “about” but i have read this one & honestly very misleading?
not in a bad way but it’s not specially about elom & his boyfriend. i’m nearly halfway through and elom is not even out yet. it’s a family saga, the first quarter is about abena and kodzo. it’s really good and i think the blurb sells it short

clem lived in a heightened reality, where the world was constructed by her conversations - dramatic and hyperbolic… debates became “shouting matches”, tipsy friends were “wasted”

Current commute read because sometimes you don't feel like reading about r*wing on a train lmao.

mothers weren’t the only ones who bonded with their babies through their bodies; that he would barely be a father if he left his son physically untethered to his history (circumcision)

when i started i was worried this wasn’t going to be for me but i’m really really enjoying it so far, i’m glad 🙏🏻

my super power is completely forgetting what a book is about between the time i add it to my tbr to when i start reading it
