Richard was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) as was I Which can be in the lungs or pancreas. He says " It's all about watching your Heath and having a good emotional support system such as family and friends (9)." From personal experience I believe it to be 100% true. Richard is one of seven children, he took support from his whole family.
