Dit was het eerste boek dat ik kocht met mijn eigen (krantenwijk)geld toen ik 14 was.. tien jaar later ga ik het eindelijk lezen omdat ik al die tijd te bang was dat het te dichtbij zou komen 😭🤪

I think the writing is getting easier to read. It’s still really challenging at times. But I’m starting to view it with more whimsy and joyousness than just confusion. Jeanette seems like she was a sweet child who didn’t get the world she deserved. And it’s very sad to read but you can’t help but feel joy for her childish view on the world and things.

The writing can be very confusing, but I’m going to continue and hope it’s a me problem and not a book problem
