The downhill trajectory has not leveled off. It's growing steeper.

Oooh that sounded bad. I want to be with you the way you plan on being with your fiancé. I meant together! A relationship! Charlotte I don’t know if you’ve heard what’s going on but I know where you are and I’m coming to find you. Stay safe, please china doll!
🙄
The interactions were so great and believable before this.

Ok what the hell is going on?
The first half of the book is so brilliant.
Now the author is actively undoing all the awesomness.
‘I didn’t come back here to see if I could live off Donoghue’s without the Brisbane one as well. I bought the one here a year ago after Sheneille cheated-’ he looked at her. ‘Because you were here. And I needed a reason to keep coming up.’

The book was do great until this point.
I loved the h. Smart. Relatable. A badass in her own way. But then this super weird scene happens and she also gets back in the car with him.
I like for the h to have strength in dark stories. Makes the dynamic more exciting.
Right now shes coming off impulsive and weird in a mentally stunted way.

Modern zombie tales are about society's fears, so of course someone would write a zombie tale where it's caused by vaccines and terrorists

Interesting timing for all these books I've had for years and am just now getting to. First Parable of the Sower and its sequel seem to predict what we're going through politically. Now this book is about vaccines causing.... I'm going to say vampirism? I haven't reread the back-jacket summary for ultimate anti-spoiler fun.
