The inspectors view is really well written. The character is so engaging, you really feel his frustrations, his pain, he wants to do well but his mind is elsewhere and as a new guy in the area people are not cooperating. You feel a deep level of empathy for this guy and also just want to kick him and tell him to toughen up.
