The exercises are good, only one is culturally appropriation. The examples lean heavily on white, male writers of the middle of the last century. Women students are portrayed as either of two caricatures. Having 12 earrings in at once in a single ear maybe has some bearing on the sense of that person, but not as a writer, for example.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. The second half doesn't seem worth my time, but it probably would be great for anyone serious about writing.

Really good so far. Part one contains words that would benefit any form of creativity.
