Gah, this is a hard re-read...
I enjoy the story, and the writing style is decent, but I feel like there's a bit too much telling (or showing, then telling what was just shown)...
And the passage (a couple pages long) about the history of Magessa was pretty much a direct replication of Moses and the Exodus...
