How does she remember every detail of every ritual? She's been gone for 10 years and she was only 16 when she left! Seriously, she didn't need any training when she got back?

When did she go shopping for all the ingredients for her 400 pastries!? So, the ingredients for the food can be given to her magically? But she can't do her own lawn work magically? I'm so confused.

It is bonkers that she has met with so many people but she has not met with the elders at this point. Like, I could understand them being kind of annoyed with her. It feels disrespectful that she would meet with leaders outside of her community but not meet with all the leaders inside her community.

If her sister is now on her side, it is bonkers that she would not bring a group with her. You can't tell me ahead of the house would not have even a core group of people to bring with her to the cookout.

I've already said that it's confusing that this author uses the heroine's title and the heroine's name interchangeably and they are so similar.

I cannot figure out why people use her title versus why people use her name.

Seriously, the rules in this book don't make sense. They are not consistent! There's no way this dude should be calling her by her nickname rather than her title!

I'm confused by when things can be done by magic and when they can't. She needs someone to open her door, but her house can bring her food magically. But then she needs to make a bunch of food to feed an uncertain number of people. Wouldn't she be able to make sure the food doesn't spoil and give it to someone magically or duplicate food magically? The rules in this world are very unclear.

I detest when authors have their "heroes" say "I have always loved you" right after you have heard that they slept with a woman in a couple months ago.

Maybe there should be a warm-up period between them again because they haven't seen each other since they were teenagers and it's been 10 years? I don't believe that he has always loved her. And even if he has, I don't want him to say so until he has proven himself

Oh, puh-lease. Saying "you never" or "you always" when the last time y'all saw each other was when she was 16 and it's been 10 years. Get real.

There is nothing believable about her sister's sweetness to her.

How is it that no one understands her powers, even her ancestors!? Surely she can't be the only one ever to have these powers!?

It is annoying me that she keeps claiming the title of Tick Witch. Wasn't she a teenager when she left!? Childhood mean nicknames shouldn't cling. Bleh

I think it warrants some additional convos before you do this but hey
