You know how sometimes you just immediately trust a book?
Yeah. That. *luxuriates*

A rekla sam:

Right now I am thinking about starting a different book. I am reading it and delighted in the language, phrasing and descriptions but it is so hard for me to connect them all to the story which I feel is there but I can’t seem to follow it. I only read a few pages every night (10-20) and so I appear to be struggling.

I am unsure of this part. It is either brilliant or desperate.

I have completed the first part of the novel and am now moving on to the crossword section. I was afraid when I started reading this novel that the crossword part might be a bit gimmicky or somehow trying to play up to people who wanted a repeat of Pavic's first novel.
Now that I have reached this part I can say that I am very hopeful and that all of my fears of gimmicks or trickery are gone.

This book is getting better and better. I find myself setting it down to ponder what I just read. I was interested by the unconventional crossword part of the novel but I am still 10 pages away from the start of that and already I am in love with the story.

I have been waiting for a month for this to arrive in the post and when it did today I was giddy as a schoolgirl.
It is like I have a new best friend and I am carrying it with me from room to room.
So far it is great but slow going. I wonder if it will live up to the hype in my mind.

I had lost this book to a packed up beach chair. Now that it's beach season, I've found it. I'm amazed how every paragraph can stand by itself. It's so poetic. It is not, however, a quick and easy read for me. It's like caviar. It's exciting for a quick taste but you can't make a meal of it. Like caviar, I'm sampling the book a few pages at a time.

Yeah, I've been trying to read this book since like 2006. It's like reading a poem and I love it, but there's never a compelling reason for me to keep reading, unlike Dictionary of the Khazars.
