A reread. Virno is *the* best concept-monger writing at the moment. He builds philosophy like lego-blocks, one piece at a time, deliberately and meticulously. Additionally, if you ever wanted to understand Deleuze's 2nd synthesis of time from D&R (memory), this is the book to go-to. It doesn't mention Deleuze a single time, but it's all here, and wonderfully exposited nonetheless.

I will never not love reading Virno. It's less 'what' he thinks than 'how': there's a meticulousness to his writing, each paragraph building on the last, each adding up to a density that always catches you by surprise. And the creativity on display is always awesome to behold: here a mash-up of Bergson and Aristotle, a meditation on time and history via the notion of deja vu. Very cool stuff.
