Mr. Flipper had such high hopes for our country. He would be devastated if he could see how things are going now and how a vocal few are stirring up hatred between the races. And yet, he alludes to that even back then. For the most part, he was accepted, helped and even esteemed by his fellow cadets, officers, teachers and others, but he saw/shows how a prejudiced few could control the rest. So sad!
