Status Updates From Triptych

Michael learns a bit about Trent’s past; being “vultured” on his case as a detective a few years ago. He also discovers that he’s very closed off and is threatened by his presence, especially since he inserted himself into the case.

Finally, we meet Will Trent. Here from the GBI to assist Michael Orewood (?) and Tim with the cases of the beaten teenage girl with the bitten tongue. Will explains to Michael the pattern of 3 other girls who suffered the same MO.

I’m on Chapter 14, so far the book is decent. It started out fast paced but now it’s going back to explain certain characters lives and it’s not as interesting.

We discover Michael, who is not only in the middle of a homicide where the victim’s tongue was bitten off, but we also see the trouble in paradise. Tension at home with his wife, the pressure of his kid Tim and his medical condition, and the beginning of an affair with his neighbour.

Good so far, but different from tv show

Great Story. Similar but different from the TV Show. The Twist was crazy especially if you watch the TV first and then read the book series

This book is so messed up, I love it. I’m tearing through it. The book makes me gasp, makes me sick,
Makes me laugh, makes me so angry. Any author that can make you truly feel such an array of emotions, make me shocked by the power of emotions… amazing. This book is sickening, but so good.

I'm really tired of the two characters (angie/trent). I get it, they have a love-are relathionship - the author just keeps going on and on about it. Not sure I'll be reading another in the series.

very detailed deep and emotionl book. not for the faint hearted . excellent but disturbing and compelling . Ending wasnt as good as it could have been But! amazing author.

Oh my god, getting boring again. The case is moving so slow and I'm sick and tired reading about the love interest between the two characters. I get it, both of them are damaged, they belong together. At this point, I'm just continuing with the book just to finish it since i'm three quarters through.

What in the world was happening in the early 2000s to make this genre so dark and ugly?

Its is interesting so far. Not trying to compare to tv show.
