Status Updates From Triptych

This is the first time this has happened to me… I have so much sympathy for the characters, it keeps me from continuing to read the book in fear of the dark ending…

I'm enjoying the TV show so I thought I would go back to the source material

The library just took this back with an hour left in the audiobook and I might cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 31, 2023-Reading for the second time. (3/31/23)

This book is breaking my heart.

I still think that POS Michael did it and it is starting to look like a lot of other ppl do too.

Man, reading about John is really rough. How no one believed him, how he was repeatedly raped in prison, and mostly, how the ONLY two ppl in his life who have tried to help him are his mother, and his old cell mate. I believe his cousin committed the crime John was convicted of. Hope his dickhead POS cousin gets what he deserves.

In a lot of ways, reading about these characters is sad. Ormewood, sad. John, sad. When they are at their weakest, they have no support, and their families shit on them. Likewise, when they have a chance to change it, the make a shitty choice. Addiction, denial, and insanity.

Listening to this one and it’s an old recording from when it was on CD, so it randomly says “end of disc X” 😭😭

Also I hope my bestie Karin is okay bc this is dark per usual 😅

Getting a slow start here, not sure if it’s my lack of interest with this one?

So far it's pretty good. I think I shouldn't have started watching "Will Trent", because the description of him in this book is VERY different. I'm still going to read this and try to get around the physical description of him, in the book.

If you started to read this book to get a Will Trent fix in between episodes don't bother. It mostly follows two people one could not care less about, a rando named John and, of all the freaking boring hetero white male characters, Ormwood. I hate this book and if there isn't more Trent soon I'm not going to bother to finish it. Feels like a bait and switch. 1st time the show is better than the book.

starting this series over again i love will trent because he's a closed-down soft butch surrounded by competent bitches and I strongly believe karin slaughter is our greatest living krime kween as I saw another reviewer write, "just shut up and take my money"

So far…it is nothing like the show, Will Trent, and very disturbing.

Began reading earlier this week and forgot to add. This is a great primer for someone who hasn't read other Will Trent books, and wants a background for the TV series.

Great twists but, so much exposition. Get to the point all ready!

This book is…gritty.

I retract my previous hope for a good redemption arc, Michael sir. Burn in hell.

Very intriguing very hard to put down

Good writing. Keeps you enthralled. Don’t want to put it down can’t wait to pick it back up.
