I can't get past the MC description! Tall, blond, anglo, skinny, with a Herman Munster vibe?! Not short, dark-haired, and latino? I've been watching the TV show and enjoyed it so much that I decided to go to the source material. The women in my book group said to view them as completely different series because they are both enjoyable. Don't know if I can do it! I hear the words spoken as if by Ramon Rodriguez.

Will is TALL, BLOND, AND ANGLO? What?! I can't unsee Ramon Rodriguez. The only things that are the same are the precise diction and understated demeanor. Why did no one tell me?! I mean, after the kerfuffle over Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, c'mon!

This story is hard to read. Will Trent hasn't made much of an appearance and the prison scene is heartbreaking. I'm glad I started with book 2 and then started watching the show. I'm not sure I would continue starting with this book.
