Status Updates From Pale Fire

Actual poem by Shade is fun to read so far, especially Canto II. I like how rhythm and rhyme schemes are used and how "time forked". Very fun to read, really enjoying the poem itself

Coming back to this nearly a year later I think? I remember bringing this to StA with me last year but never really reading much of it. Going to try to just knock it out quickly while on the train home to NJ on Tuesday. Rereading the forward was good I remember a lot more than I thought.

Narrator in foreword is displaying a vaguely similar obsession that HH had for Dolores in Lolita. Definitely an unreliable narrator; some intentional typos too? And a vague mystery already established in his lacking explanations. An ego there, believes the poem NEEDS the commentary to be fully realized or sum bs

The narrators relationship to the poet is kind of like what Jon krakauer is to Chris mcandless don’t @ me
