Man I know this was hypocritical but could we not just have left the sex to the imagination here at least? This last chapter was so unnecessary

Okay so all he has to do was tell the demon to leave like, really firmly? Thats it? Why did this work when everything else failed? It’s not like they didn’t demand it leave before?

Why is this so urgent all of a sudden? Isn’t Rhys a few years younger than David, shouldn’t this ritual have bought them years not like… minutes?

The world building, dynamics, and politics of this community is so rich I feel fully immersed in all of it. I absolutely believe that ST Gibson KNOWS this setting like the back of her hand. And she doesn’t flinch at all with dumbing anything down. It’s like she gets in this dense flow of mapping everything out, and it doesn’t wait for people who wouldn’t care to understand in the first place.

I’m literally in love with this book.

David’s fucking right, it is none of Rhys’s damn business if he’s gonna relapse on alcohol. Why tf is it your problem? You cut him out of your life over nothing, you’ve not been there for him, you don’t even wanna be his friend. What fucking right do you have to control his decisions, bad or not? And I know the story’s gonna fuckin validate his fuckass messiah complex fuck right off Rhys

God I hate Rhys so much, like this book wants so badly for me to believe Rhys is such a good wholesome guy and David is such a piece of shit but all Rhys cares about is himself, nobody has any empathy for David and they treat him like a monster for not being 100% well adjusted all the time. All they do is expect him to change for them, nobody cares about David for who he is and I’m tired of it. Leave him alone.
