compelling & elegantly worded concerns about our sliding cultural hegemonies. it's leaning more into foucault than i expected as one of the primary anxieties is heterotopia & identity. i'm going slow only because i want to savour this collection. glad i picked it up.

I love Murakami! And enjoy using the word obtuse too.

I'm currently reading the essay titled "The Lifestyle Church" and have to say most of it is going completely over my head. Sub-cultures of sub-cultures, selling out, gentrification, rejecting labels. None of it seems to be making the Writer any happier.

It's interesting, but I just don't get it.
