I almost abandoned this, glad I didn't. It's taken a pleasant turn.

I was really enjoying this story up until I realized it was a trilogy and the other books involved his relationship with is best friend etc. to be clear i have nothing against the possible relationship dynamic however iI realized it wasn’t what i thought i had signed up for and as such i lost complete interest. I do think i would have enjoyed a simple standalone as opposed to a whole trilogy. So imma have to DNF.
