How have I never listened to this before? Comedic genius, gave laughed out loud lots already. Listening to the audible version with Stephen Fry, such perfect energy. Thoroughly enjoying!

really gagged over the absurd sincerity of these guys when they take these ridiculous moral positions. "the truth isn't something one tells to a nice, sweet, refined girl". sooooooo ..... .someone you know coded. deception as gentlemanly conduct. rationalizing your bad traits as virtues. brat

Wilde seems to like the name Earnest

it was an excellent play w/ tons of plot twists. (I just think that marrying ur own cousin is very weird)

Just finished reading it,will upload the full review later.This play was so hilarious. Another great piece of writing from Wilde. He is criticising the London's high society subtlyand the idea of marriage(requirements for a marriage). The characters and their way of delievering dialogues,it is so hilarious.

Gwendolen. [With elaborate politeness.] Thank you. [Aside.] Detestable girl! But I require tea!

Cecily. What an impetuous boy he is! I like his hair so much. I must enter his proposal in my diary.
