Still slow. I wish that there were pictures. In fact, the letters say that there are photos enclosed, so it is disappointing that there are no photos in the book. I also wish there was other material besides letters- newspaper articles about the adventure, drawings, etc. I am also growing even less fond of the narrator for his snobbish closed-mindedness and his blatant sexism, but that is at least in character.

This book is a bit slow. It is tough to build much momentum in a story built entirely through letters, written to various people, by various characters.
