Status Updates From Cold Spite

Good grief. It's been a long time since I've complained so much about a book while reading. Apologies to anyone who reads my ranting as I listened to this book. There are maybe some spoilers? I tried hard not to be spoilery, but my goodness, both Cas and Delilah grated on my nerves.

The previous characters from the other books were the saving grace for this book. I'll move onto Kurt Montana's book next. I hope it's better.

I can't decide if I want to continue to binge listen to the series and find out what happened to Kurt Montana or to switch it up after this somewhat frustrating listen. Esp when I was rage listening to parts of the story. Ugh. Decisions, decisions.

It took a while to get there but the last 10%-ish of the book was excellent. And I'm glad that the whole annoying Greg Trainor this doesn't pop up anymore. It annoyed the heck out of me. His entire role in the story was beyond frustrating.

Eric G Dove is magnificent.

Kinda love all the whole gold team coming together. The rest of the book made me cranky and crazy.

Some parts of this book made me so mad, but it's not going to stop me from listening to the next books and I'm going to relisten to the series from the beginning. I'll skip this one though for my re-listen/read through.

Such an infuriating book, but I love the found family and the broader characters in the series from all the previous books. And thank goodness for Eric G Dove's narration. His voice makes it all better.

This is the worst Cold Justice book I have ever had to read/listen to. Greg Trainor is just about the laziest and most convenient incompetent bureaucratic leader, and the fact that he does unpunished is ridiculous. I'm so disappointed by this book which makes me very sad since I have loved every other book in the series.

I’m listening to the audiobook, so Eric G Dove’s voice and narration = 5 stars. The story is making me mad from the flimsy plot one the set up and the flimsy excuse for holding onto the “issue” = 3 stars.

Such a disappointing book. 3 stars max when most all of Toni Anderson's books are 5 stars for me.

This is the weakest plot set up of all the Cold Justice books I've ever read. What a shame.

The whole premise for this story is stupid. The reason for them breaking up and the reason for them staying apart, then her reason for not forgiving him is thin and overdramatised. It's so disappointing that the reason for their "second chance romance" is so manufactured and flimsy.
