Chapter 2 looks reasonably widely at teachers' beliefs, where they might be coming from and about the language itself, about learning, teaching, the programme, curriculum and the professional status of language teaching. It also considers the difference between a learner's and teacher's view of learning and consequence of that which is very important.

The first chapter is really neat. It introduces various methods or tools for classroom investigation and research and gives some guidelines for some of them. Certain samples (in the appendices) included as part of the chapter make it very accessible.
