Status Updates From At All Costs (Red Zone, #4)

kyle meet with the coach and nussbaum and talked to them. kyle and the coach talked about what happened to mike and did he know anything about it. then Nuss joins in and says "why didn't you say anything" kyle knows it was the coach and trainers job.

Gary went to the library to meet up with tammy. they were in their for two hours studying each other. Gary and tammy both go visit mike at the hospital. He sees mikes parents and gets scared. they greet him and talk to him about how him and mike were good buddies.

mike and twenty others had to take a new concussion test. mike had to be sent to the hospital because he had bleeding to his pain. Shane wasn't doing okay ever since that happened. he quite the football team and almost lost his girlfriend.

Shane and tammy are about to break up because of mike. He wont tell the coach that mike is hurt and that he got a concussion. Tammy is yelling at shane but he starts to day dream.

Mike stands up cindy and didn't meet her parents. cindy tammy and kyle all meet in the choirs room and call mike to come in and talk to them.they all missed their class so that mike and cindy can make up. tammy and kyle are all good and have a good relationship going on. kyle and mike get in a fight with zeke.

Mike and zeke got into it during the test at ohio state university. Mike has a concussion but doesnt wanna say anything because he wants to play and go to college. If he doesn't get his minutes he wont go, mike was the tight end. He could never keep his positions on offense. he would get moved from line to tight end.

he talked about starting positions and getting into college. Mike and zeke was both wrestlers and was always competing. he would always beat zeke in everything

Kyle was in the car with Tammy studying for their history class on the way to see Mike in the hospital. They were learning about General Sherman and his march. One of Sherman's tanks was named after Sherman himself. Kyle wished he had a tank named after him because of the way he blew through an offensive line. Tammy reminded him that he doesn't play football anymore.

One day before practice, Tammy was talking to Kyle and telling him that if he didn't tell the coaches about Mike's concussion, then she would break up with him. He stuck with his choice to cover for Mike. This made him late for practice, but when he got to the locker room, coach said he was starting late because of another concussion test. It was a different doctor and he said that Mike's brain was bleeding.

Coach started Kyle at tight end at practice, but the guy who replaced Kyle got hurt so Mike got to go back to tight end. Coach told Mike the play and he told Shane, and they ran what they thought was a good play. Coach came in and yelled at Mike because that wasn't the play he called. Mike is struggling to remember things.

Coach Whitson told Kyle to see him after the film session. Kyle was worried that coach knew about what was wrong with Mike. He said that Mike was playing hard but not smart, and he wanted to start Kyle at tight end. Kyle didn't want to be the one taking Mike's minutes, and tried to convince coach not to do that.

When Kyle and Tammy arrived at the dance, they looked around for Mike and Cindy. They could not find them so they called where Mike works. Mike's boss said he had to call him in, but had to send him home because he wasn't acting right. He also said he might have an opening for Mike's job soon.

Coach Z said that everyone passed the concussion test, which made Mike happy. During the game, Mike played really well. Later in the game, Mike made a great tackle, but he came off of the field asking if he scored. He couldn't hardly hear his own voice. Kyle took him to the locker room, and Mike threw up.

The day of the concussion test came, and all of the football players went to the gym to be tested. The first test was an eye exam. When it was Mike's turn, Kyle told the doctor that he had a head cold so Mike could pass. The second test was a written test. After the test Mike and Zeke pretended to fight while Kyle fixed some answers on Mike's test.

In history class Kyle see something wrong with Mike. Mike is worried that he has a concussion, and if he tells coach or he doesn't pass the concussion test coming up, then he won't be able to play. He is worried that he'll lose his opportunity to get a scholarship.

Kyle, Tammy, Rashad, and Mike have a group project in history about the Civil War. Rashad gets mad at Mike and Kyle for not having their research. They explain that they have been busy with football. Then Mike pulls out an old Civil War cannonball from his pocket, and this seems to satisfy Rashad.

On Friday, the team had "film day" but what they really did was watch Zeke and Mike wrestle. Zeke had Mike almost pinned when Mike made a quick move to get on top and pin Zeke. After they finished wrestling, the coaches came in and announced that everyone had to be tested for a concussion.

On Monday October 21 they had film day in the afternoon so they were watching film and mike vomited all over the room and they had to stop film to clean up the mess. Co ah says see me after film and he thought to him self that he might be in trouble. But coach said to Kyle good job keep up the good work and you will do alright.

So In the book they are going to the Superbowl and they have to repairer for it. Its only two days way and no one has showed up to practice and they are gonna be in trouble if they don't show up to practice.

Kyle goes and visits mike in the hospital .He feels guilty because he was part of the reason he was there.Mikes parents see Kyle there and tells him all this stuff and Kyle feels really guilty. Later Kyle is upset that he and Mikes OSU dreams are over.Kyle quits the team.He then explains why he quit to coach z and thanks him for all of the great football memories that he had at Troy High.

Kyle is thinks he is late to practice but coach is starting practice a little late.There is a concussion doctor to do a check up on the players.When Kyle gets there he is looking for mike and finds out he is in with the doctor.The doctor rushes and tells someone to call an ambulance because mikes brain is bleeding because of his concussion he has had for 2 weeks.All mike and Zeke do is watch this happen.

mike calls Kyle upset because he is loosing his memory he keeps forgetting thing because of the concussion.Kyle tells mike to wait things out for one last game,and mike agrees.Tammy becomes upset with Kyle because she says he inst doing the right thing.Kyle says he can't tell the coaches because it would mess things up and Tammy tells mike to get out of her car until he makes the right decision.

Mike can't understand the plays anymore sine he has had the concussion.Coach Z has yelled at Mike and mike keeps getting upset.Kyle tries to help mike but since He isn't doing his job Coach Z decides to put Kyle in for mikes position and Kyle is upset because he doesn't want to take playing time from his friend.

Mike finally gets a girlfriend and they have a school dance this Friday and he cant wait. So on Friday they all take pictures at Kyle's house and so they are taking pictures and Kyle trips and lands in all mud. So he had to go home and stay in all night while everyone one else was having fun.

Mike stands up Cindy on the homecoming day because he doesn't feel good because of his concussion.Kyle thinks about it and he wants to tell coach Z but Mike wont allow him to. Mike trows up and can't understand what people are saying that well. Mike goes and apologizes to Cindy for standing her up.

Kyle is worried that Mike will get hurt in the game.Mike doesn't understand what the coaches are saying.When they get back to the locker room at half time Mike Throws up on the floor because of his concussion.

Mike and Kyle take the concussion test.They are both very worried that Mike won't pass and he wont play.Kyle makes accuses for mike and helps him with the written part of the test.Later coach Z comes to the locker room to tell them that they have all passed.Kyle still worries that Mike will get hurt.

Mike and Kyle are out at practice and they had to run wind sprints.Kyle notices that mike was very nauseous and he threw up.The next day kyle sees that mike is upset.Mike thinks that he has a concussion and he is scared the coaches will find out and he will loose any chance at a scholarship. later they have a meeting with Ohio state about concussions and they both get worried.
