First chapter down and I’m reminded very heavily of When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A Parker. And just a tinge of ACOTAR. The writing style, the description of the home. I also feel unattached to Anya, though we are one chapter in. Can’t help but wonder that if, like so many books in this genre, I should remain unattached to Anya so I can guard myself.

Very interesting first chapter. I’m reminded very heavily of When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A Parker and a little of ACOTAR. But the first chapter in her home and the cave where Kenna hoards her collection just remind me a lot of Raeve’s home from WTMH. And I feel like I don’t want to try to keep an attachment to Anya. Idk. Hope I’m wrong about that.
