It's weird seeing how Jaspers Philosophy of the encompassing works itself into clinical psychology. Depressing enough is knowing he wrote this at 30 years of age.

Jasper's object was to show psychiatrists exactly what they know, how they know it, and what they do not know and cannot claim. He wrote this book with these aims in mind. Foreword, page ix.
